Stephen Shane Vance
“Beloved Son”
On March 7th just shy of the 11th hour our beloved Stephen Shane Vance peacefully drifted into the arms of our Heavenly Father. He was a son, brother, uncle and loyal friend. Shane was a warrior who fought the toughest battle inside his head. He was perfectly content to give his last dollar to anyone in need, and never put himself first. He was gentle, kind, funny and a genuinely good human being.
Steve “Shane” was born to Steve and Linda Vance on January 5, 1972. His early years were actively spent hiking, fishing, water and snow skiing, playing the organ and synthesizer, hanging out with his Grandpa Vance and taking apart or rebuilding anything with electrical wires and components. He played soccer, baseball, and loved wrestling in high school. Shane was an eagle scout. His manners and incredible politeness were his true character. His illness was the only thing that could impede his path to success. He will remain an example beyond compare, to not judge and always forgive others. He knew from experience how little others know what another is dealing with on the inside.
He is now free from all that held him down in his earthly body and is certainly being loved and watched over by his grandparents who preceded him. Gone too soon, he will be loved and missed every day! We love you Shane and will see you again.
We want to recognize, with a grateful thank you, to Shanes’ friend and caretaker, Jesus Benitez, who was truly a Godsend to all of us. Shane is survived by his parents, sister Cindy (JJ) Jaromillo, nieces Danika and Madison, Grandma Vance, loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceded in death by his Grandpa Vance and Grandparents George and Marge Bishop.
