Stephen Leonard Bell passed away peacefully in his home on May 12, 2022 after a short illness.
He was born in Salt Lake City on May 4, 1938. After graduating from East High School, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served until being honorably discharged in December of 1957.
After his time in the military, Steve returned to Utah and found employment working for Kennecott, where he helped develop infrastructure for the copper mine. Next, he transitioned to a position with Salt Lake County where he served as a building inspector, and ultimately ended up working within the Jordan School District for many years until his retirement.
Along with golfing, working in his yard, and watching the University of Utah football games, he also enjoyed fishing at Strawberry Reservoir with his best friend Bob Petersen.
Stephen is preceded in death by his beloved wife Marjorie Bell (Ocamb), his mother Emma Stephens Bell, father Leonard D. Bell, stepmother Ruth Baker Bell, and brother Mike Bell.
Survived by son Todd (Becky) Bell, daughter Tracy (Brian) Buttars, grandsons Tyson (Victoria) Bell, Zach (Erin) Bell, Garrett Bell, great granddaughter Evelyn Bell, and siblings Lona Korous and Jim (Terry) Bell, along with many additional family members and friends.
