Stephen Bradley

April 17, 1966 — October 8, 2016

Stephen Spencer Bradley, born 17 April 1966 in Fort Rucker, Alabama, returned to his Father in Heaven on 8 Oct 2016 where he was lovingly greeted by his father, Ray Eugene Bradley, and mother, Sally Joann Dean Bradley Martin, who both preceded him in death.  Steve is universally described by all who knew him as a “great guy.”  He was a man of great character which was molded by the exceptional people of Malad, ID to include esteemed coaches, teachers, neighbors, classmates, and friends. He was a proud graduate of Malad High School in 1984 where he was an all-star basketball player for the Dragons. He had a jovial attitude and an ease about him that made everyone around him feel comfortable.  He was a friend’s friend with unquestioned loyalty and he loved his family members, especially his children Taylor R. Bradley (JaTawng), Murray, UT and Sierra M. Bradley, Ogden UT, step-children Tiffany Cooper Lewis (Wade), California, Tyson Wallin and granddaughter Cooper Lewis, more deeply than they knew.  He was a big man with a huge heart that he easily expanded to include children, step-children, and companions past and present.   Steve excelled at sports (except golf) and shocked and amazed everyone when he graduated from Weber State University with a degree in Quality Engineering.  He considered any disparaging remarks toward his motorcycle, the Denver Broncos, or the Utah Jazz as fighting words.  At the time of his passing he was the Continuous Improvement Coordinator at Sleep Number by Select Comfort and resided in Midvale, Utah.
Steve is preceded in death by his mother, father, and honored step-father, Delbert Martin who raised Steve in the absence of Steve’s biological father Ray who gave his life in the service of his country in Vietnam.  Steve is survived by his beloved children and step-children, a granddaughter and his sister Diana Bradley Schapiro (Tim) of Ogden, UT, brother Shawn Martin, Aunt Paula (Len), West Jordan, Utah, Uncle Ken Bradley who he had the pleasure of finding and getting to know over the last 5 years, Karen Cooley, his loving partner, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers, classmates, and dear friends who all had a place in Steve’s heart.  Funeral arrangements by Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary, 10055 State Street, Sandy, UT.  Funeral planned for Saturday, 15 October 2016 at 3:00 pm.  Please check the Memorial Lake Hills web site at www.memorialutah.com for updates. In lieu of flowers, all who knew Steve are encouraged to lift a refreshing beverage of their choice in Steve’s honor and memory.
