Stella Papanikolas

Stella (Kaloudis) Papanikolas died peacefully on Friday, November 30, in Salt Lake City following a massive stroke.
Stella was born to Frank and Mary Tsamoutales on March 15, 1926 in Altoona, PA. She was married to Nicholas Kaloudis in 1951. They raised their family in Wilmington, DE. Following her husband’s death, Stella moved to Salt Lake City in 1980 and married John Papanikolas, who preceded her in death in 1986.
Lovingly known as yiayia by her beloved grandchildren, Stella is survived by: her two children, John Kaloudis of Salt Lake City and Kerry Pappas of Stamford, CT, and their spouses, Kathy Kaloudis and Father Harry Pappas; five grandchildren, Nicholas Kaloudis (and his wife Sonia), Rebecca Samra (and her husband Joseph), Joshua Pappas, Luke Kaloudis and Hannah Pappas; three great-grandchildren, Joseph Samra, John Kaloudis and Ellianna Samra; her brother Nick Tsamoutales and sister Vada Ganakos of Melbourne, FL.
A public viewing will be held at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church, 5335 S Highland Dr., Holladay, UT 84117, on Monday morning, Dec. 1st at 10:00 am, followed by the funeral at 11:00 am. The makaria, (mercy meal) will immediately follow the funeral in the church hall. The interment will take place the following morning, Tuesday, Dec. 3 at Valley Memorial Cemetery, 4335 W 4100 S, West Valley City, UT, at 9:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the benevolent fund of Prophet Elias Church or International Orthodox Christian Charities.
