Stella Lee Stewart

Stellie (Stella) Lee Stewart, 88, died at home on December 14, 2018. She was born to Obediah (Dyer) and Flora Ellen (Cook) Day on February 11, 1930, in Hunstville, Tennessee. She married DeRell Porter, later divorced and Ellis Herley Warner, later divorced. On October 1, 1964, she married the love of her life, Francis Lyle Stewart.
She took great pride in working at the LDS Hospital and University of Utah Hospital from where she retired. She loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening. Stella was a spitfire with a contagious personality. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved and accepted everyone as if they were her own. Her family left behind is grieving her loss as she will be greatly missed. But they are also happy that she is rejoicing, dancing, and singing with her loved ones on the other side.
She is survived by her sisters Nettie Tomalavage, Geneva (Vance) Looney, Juanita (Harold) Looney, Edna (Rick) Kelso, and Etta (Tom) Edward; two children Darlene (Pete) Garcia and Arnold (Karin) Warner; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 26 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, 8 siblings, one step brother, two children – Charles Kay Warner and Marlene Porter, and one grandchild.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2018, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT, 84123. Another viewing is to take place on December 21, 2018 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM also at Memorial Redwood Mortuary with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at the same location.
