Stefanus “Steve” Vandemerwe

Stefanus “Steve” VandeMerwe, age 88, passed away July 24, 2015 in Salt Lake City UT. Born June 4, 1927 in Dordrecht, Netherlands to Jan and Cornelia Lucia Wetter VandeMerwe. Married Klazina VanVossen on April 6, 1957 in Salt Lake City, UT. Steve lived in Holland until 1956 where as a young man he lived through the difficulties of World War II. These hardships taught him to be hard working and self-reliant. In America he became an outstanding brick mason and eventually owned and operated his own masonry business for many years.
Steve is survived by his wife Klazina, daughters Corrie Cummock and Alice Oakeson, one granddaughter, three grandsons, and two great grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday July 30, 2015, 12:00 noon at Holladay Memorial Park, 4900 South Memory Lane, Holladay. Condolences may be made to the family at www.holladaycottonwoodmortuary.com
