Stanley Carter

June 14, 1931 — January 2, 2015

Stanley William “Father Brown” Carter died peacefully in the VA Hospital on January 2, 2015 in Salt Lake City, UT at the age of 83. He was born on June 14, 1931 in Salt Lake City, UT to Lillian and Gilbert Justin Carter. He attended Granite High School. He and Beverly married in June of 1974. He served in Germany during the Korean War. He worked for Kennecott for 40 years in the area of casting/refinery. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being with friends. His passion was family.
Stanley is survived by his wife of 40 years, Beverly of Salt Lake City. His children: Marjean Harvey, Brent Carter, Michael Carter, Evalynn Wisner, Ross Carter, Jolene Whitaker and Brenda Kowallis. 3 siblings 22 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, dad Martin Knutsen, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and 2 children.
A viewing will be held Friday, January 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., at the Holladay-Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive, Holladay, Utah with Graveside Services to follow at 2 p.m. at Lake View Memorial Cemetery, 1640 East Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, Utah. A reception will follow the graveside service at Dees Family Restaurant, 2085 S Redwood Rd. Memories can be shared at www.holladaycottonwoodmortuary.com The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to United Way.
