SSG Roger Allan Jaensch, age 78, passed away on September 10, 2024 at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah surrounded by loved ones. He was born on October 6, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Alfred E.H. Jaensch and Della Williams Jaensch.
Roger proudly served his country in the Army National Guard from 1965 to 1971 followed by 20+ years as an Army Reservist in which he served active duty during a time of war and was honorably discharged.
Roger enjoyed his movies, NASCAR racing, going for long drives, and spending time with his family. Family was of the utmost importance to Roger as he was a respected and much-loved mentor to many of his nieces and nephews.
His children Paul and Kristi and his grandchildren would like to express their greatest appreciation to and give special thanks and appreciation to his sister Sharon, niece Jennifer and Dean, nephew Lorin and Stephanie, nephew Ben and Georgine, and all of their children for the love, support, and care of Roger during his time of need and seeing him through to his final days of life. There are no words to express how much that means to us.
Roger is survived by his son Paul Z. Jaensch; daughter Kristi E. Jaensch; three grandchildren McKenzie D. Ratner, Lindzee R. Jaensch, and Stevie M. Gunderson; three sisters Sharon Lee, Linda Worch (Norbert), and Marilyn Gates (Mike) and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Della Jaensch; two brothers Raymond Jaensch and John Jaensch; and niece Crystal Trujillo.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 3:30 PM at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. You may visit with the family prior to services at a viewing from 2:30 to 3:30 PM.
