Sione Vei Pupu’A

Sione Vei Pupu’a, 89 years old, passed away on July 7, 2016 in his home in Salt Lake City, Utah surrounded by family. He was born on September 27, 1926 in Tongatapu, Tonga. Pupu’a married Manu Siu’ifanga Vaiokema in 1955. Pupu’a loved to preach the Word of God at the Tongan American Free Wesleyan church. He took pride in nurturing, encouraging, and developing young people to go into ministry to serve the Lord.
He was a hardworking man, tilling the land. He took pride in everything he did. Pupu’a is survived by Tiala (Sateki) Toetu’u Honolulu, HI; Meleseini Fokikovi (Paula) Moa, SLC; Siosaia Kaumavae (Velonika) Pupu’a, SLC; Vungakoto (Ofa) Pupu’a Arizona; Ofa (Otto) Johansson, SLC; Selueni (Sione) Tu’ifua, CA; Tipiloma (Enisila) Pupu’a, SLC; Ta’u Pupu’a, New York; 32 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Pupu’a is preceded in death by his wife Manu Siu’ifanga, and son Sunia Kafoa Pupu’a. A viewing to be held at Murray Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah, July 15, 2016 from 4 to Midnight.
Funeral services will be held at Redwood Memorial Mortuary and Cemetery, Saturday July 16, 2016, 11 AM with a viewing 2 hours prior.
