Sione T. Vatuvei

Sione T. Vatuvei, age 72, passed away on December 26, 2021 in Provo, Utah. He was born on April 16, 1949 in Tatakamotonga, Tongatapu, Tonga to Taufa Vatuvei and Makavela Lakalaka. He married Numonuma Kaufana on March 16, 1978.
Sione was a skilled carpenter and handyman. He loved his family and especially his circle of friends. He had a way of making friends wherever he went. One thing he enjoyed doing was family history.
He is survived by his wife, Numonuma, his daughters, Taufa Kaufusi (Asaeli), Mazzie Vatuvei, Uona Vatuvei (Ngalukilo Vaenuku), Sienna Mapa (Sani) and his only son, Sione Vatuvei.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Taufa Vatuvei, father, Makavela Lakalaka, and daughter, Ani Tio Vatuvei.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 31, 2021, at Memorial Redwood Mortuary located at 6500 South Redwood Road in West Jordan, Utah, beginning with a Family Viewing from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by the Bishop’s Service at 11:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow the service at Memorial Redwood Cemetery at the same location.
