Similai Mateaki Hafoka

April 2, 1991 — March 2, 2025

Simi is a beloved son, brother, uncle, and husband along with many other titles. Simi passed away suddenly in his sleep the morning of March 2, 2025, at the age of 33. He was an incredible person, kind, selfless, funny, and above all else generous. Simi would help anyone out at any time. For him, helping out was his first nature. Simi was a regular at his Kalapu Tokouaz where he could be found often, cracking jokes and telling stories with some of his favorite people. Simi loved the 49ers football team and was ready to defend them at any time. But above all else, Simi valued his family. Simi is survived by his Dad Filimoeika Hafoka and Mother Mele Hafoka, siblings Sione (Ana), Saulala (Lina), Touhuni (Manuna), Iunisi (Elden), Siope, Lavinia, Fotu (Hanna) and Poukei along with many beloved nieces and nephews, Auntys and Uncles, and numerous cousins. He leaves behind his love Raquel Robello, and so many many tokos that loved him. Simi will be missed in his family and community.

Simi graduated from West High School in 2006 - 2009. He played football as #54 defensive lineman, where he cultivated his lifelong passion for football. He was known to be an aggressive player and incredible teammate; Simi was awarded outstanding defensive lineman (MVP) in his Jr year of high school. After high school, Simi went to Snow College.

Most days you could find Simi, working out, playing video games, or trying new foods. Simi loved sharing his experiences with his brothers and sisters and fiercely defending his family. He easily made friends, easily made hard issues laughable, and lived his life fearlessly.

Simi fell in love several times in his life, but finally found his one in Raquel. In the fall of 2022, they started their relationship over a plate of sushi. Love followed easily after. They had planned to marry at the end of 2025.

Simi will be forever missed by everyone that knew him. He was well respected and loved by all.
