Sigurd Sadowski

Sigurd Sadowski, 83, our dear husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away of natural causes peacefully at home on March 16, 2018 surrounded by his family. Sigurd was born on August 1, 1934 in Dresden, Germany to Albert and Erika (Garg) Sadowski. He and his family immigrated to America in 1952 and moved to Utah where he started his own painting and contracting business, which he operated for 45 years. On June 24, 1955, Sigurd married his sweetheart, Margot Moeller, of Hamburg, Germany in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they raised six children. Sigurd loved and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sigurd was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. He was a talented artist, loved music and being around his family. He was loved and revered by his family and will be greatly missed. Sigurd is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margot, five daughters and one son and their spouses: Heidi Sadowski, Joyce Thompson (Dale), Sandra Haacke (Eldon), Inga Brown (Mike), Todd Sadowski (Luana), Erika Taylor (Jonathan), 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and his sister, Mickey Ordakowski. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Church, 2400 E. Alta Canyon Drive, Sandy, Utah. Friends and family may visit Friday evening, March 23, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the church or Saturday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment at Memorial Mountain View, 3115 E. 7800 S., Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
