Born March 18th 1937, in Brigham City, Utah to Odell and Evia Nelson. Sid grew up in Salt Lake City where he graduated from East High school and Attended the U of U.
Late in the summer while touring the Grand Canyon he met the love of his life Barbara Zenger. 6 Years later they were married in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Sid planned to travel the world, but at his first stop, Honolulu, he was offered a job selling sports equipment. Representing MacGregor Golf, success came his way winning many awards for his exceptional sales ability. He frequently played every golf course on the Hawaiian Islands and associated with many professional players.
When you live in Hawaii, where do you vacation? They traveled to Europe, Africa, Australia and Samoa. His favorite destinations were to Greece and Spain to play golf.
His passion for remodeling changed their ordinary house making it into their dream home which was enjoyed by many friends and family as their vacation destination.
His greatest loves are his two daughters, Karyn (Raoul) Vanderniet and Kristie (Jon) Vieta and his 10 grandchildren. Josh, Zak, Max, Sam, Hannah, Kelsie, Kourtnie, Paige, Jake and Anthony “Antonio”
Whether spending many hours golfing, “futsing” around the house, going to the beach, then more golfing, he lived the life one dreams of. He is preceded in death by his Parents, his siblings Jackie, Richard and Kaye.
The family wishes to thank Utah Hospice, Joe and Alicia for the love and care they provided for him.
Graveside Services will be held at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary, 3115 E. 7800 S. Cottonwood Heights, on Saturday, September 30th at 11:00am, with Viewings at the same location Friday, September 29th from 6:00 – 8:00pm and Saturday from 10:00am – 10:45am.
