Shirrel Morrow

April 13, 1943 — August 12, 2021

Shirrel W. Morrow, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to so many, passed away at the age of 78 on August 12, 2021. She was born on April 13, 1943 in Blackfoot, Idaho. She married her devoted husband, Gary L. Morrow on August 27, 1966. After which they raised their three children in Sandy. Shirrel was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many church callings, including serving over 40 years as the ward chorister. She had a great love for music and even spent many years teaching piano lessons.
She had many things she loved to do in life. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved everything about the home she and Gary have lived in for the past 55 years. She had a green thumb and greatly enjoyed plants and flowers. She always had a beautiful yard and a flourishing garden, including many fruit trees. She would spend her summers harvesting her fruits and vegetables and canning them. She would put up hundreds of jars each summer. She loved to eat healthy and exercise and would walk and go to the gym regularly. She was a great cook and baker, which her family benefitted from greatly in the delicious food she would prepare for them. She always had fresh lemonade in her fridge and was known for her zucchini bread, chocolate cake, deviled eggs, and fruit salad. And not a meal went by without an offering of diet coke! She loved watching the Utah Jazz and rarely missed a game. Above all, she found her greatest joy in life to be that of her family. She loved spending time with them and found great joy in seeing their successes in life. She especially loved all of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Gary of almost 55 years; children, Shelley (Brian) Newton, Brian (Julie) Morrow, Janet (Jeremy) Astle; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and siblings, Gary (Sonia) Wright, Stenna Rae (Duane) Barclay, and Naomi (Larry) Briggs.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arnold F. Wright and Stenna Jane Durney, and four brothers, Gayland, Condon, Ferris, and Craig.
