Shirley Sue Oxley, age 74, died on September 20, 2019 in Taylorsville, Utah. She was born on January 17, 1945 in Winnfield, Louisiana to William Sherman Oxley and Hazel Ernestine Barksdale.
Shirley loved to travel and experience new places. She spent endless hours working on family history and had an amazing memory of places and people. She loved to share her knowledge with everyone.. Shirley will be remembered for the great love she had for family and friends. She cherished time spent with them all. We will miss her fun, outgoing personality, all the pranks that she pulled and all the meals she cooked for everyone.
She is survived by a sister, Patricia Fay Kelly, many nephews and nieces and many great and great-great nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by her father, William Sherman Oxley, mother, Hazel Ernestine Oxley, sister, Doris Lawrence, sister, Dorothy Lofthouse and brother, Doyle Oxley.
In closing, we would like to acknowledge the care that was given to Shirley by Julie Ross and Jessie Romero during this final chapter of her life, as well as the warmth and comfort that was provided by her other family members that visited weekly. May we serve and bless others as she always did. We love you Aunt Shirley.
There will be a graveside service on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. There will be a Celebration of Life luncheon afterwards at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 4845 Woodhaven Drive, Taylorsville, Utah.Service Information
