Shirley Leonard Parsell
1933-2017
Our sweet mother, grandmother, sister and friend, returned to her Father in Heaven on November 15th, 2017.   Shirley was born on May 22, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Clarence and Beatrice Leonard.  She grew up in Salt Lake City, graduated from South High School.  She married Fred Richard Parsell on August 23rd, 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple.  She had 7 children and raised them in Murray, Utah.  After her children were grown she went to work for Shriners Hospital until she retired.  After retiring she volunteered at St. Marks Hospital and was a temple worker at the Jordan River Temple.  She was an avid reader and liked to sew.   Anyone who knew Shirley knew she was a kind, quiet, loving, patient person.  She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved the temple.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Beatrice Leonard, her husband Fred R. Parsell and her two children Arlene and Bruce Parsell.
She was survived by her 2 sisters Jackie and Leona. Her children Elaine, Fred, Janene, Ross and Marene.  Her grandchildren, Brandon, Vann, Aubrey, Jace, Erin and Ryan.
We love you and will miss you.
Viewing and indoor graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 21st,, 2017 at Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary and Cemetery, 10055 South State Street, Sandy, Utah from 11:00 a.m. to 12 p.m.
** This will be a viewing and simple service to share our memories of our mom, grandmother, sister and friend.
