Shirley Jean Workman Schvaneveldt

July 24, 1929 — October 14, 2018

Shirley Jean Workman Schvaneveldt passed away on 10/14 from injuries suffered after a fall in her home at St. Marks hospital surrounded by loved ones.  Attended Washington Elementary, Horace Mann Jr. High, graduated West High School 1946.  Married to Allen Reed Schvaneveldt in Logan Temple 7/31/51.  Retired from Litton Industries after 26 years of service.  Loved to sing and belonged to many choirs and choral groups including 19 years with the Jay Welch Chorale.  Held many church callings including 20 plus years as Relief Society Chorister.  Belonged to Meadowbrook and Mick Riley ladies golf, Alley Cats bowling and various bridge clubs.  She was an excellent cook, homemaker and mother to 5 sons.  Survived by husband of 67 years, Allen and sons Paul, Mike (Sue), Matt (Jill), Bruce (Jill), brothers Richard, David and Gerry, 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by brother Steve Mason and son Mark.  Viewing at Memorial Holladay~Cottonwood Mortuary 4670 S. Highland Dr. from 6-8pm Thursday 10/18/18 with funeral services Friday, 10/19 at Holladay 26th ward house 4601 S. 2565 E at 1pm.  Viewing 11:30am-12:30pm.  Mom your example of commitment to family and church will never be forgotten.  We love you and look forward to seeing you again!
