Shirley Elise Briggs

October 4, 1944 — December 12, 2019

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend Shirley Elise Jardine Briggs passed away peacefully in her home December 12, 2019 at the age of 75.  She was born on October 2, 1944 to the parents of Richard Woodrow and Lorentz Jensen Jardine.  She was sealed to the love of her life, Leo Dale Briggs, in the Salt Lake City Temple on July 12, 1963.  They raised six beautiful children.
Shirley was very creative and loved to paint, do ceramics and especially sew.  She also loved plants and enjoyed caring for them. Shirley enjoyed spending many fun times at the family cabin.  It was a place where cousins became best friends and many special memories were made. She was also a great soccer mom for many years.
Shirley lived a life of service and love.  She was a great example to all who knew her.  She never complained about anything, even through her trials with cancer, radiation, TMJ and Alzheimer’s.   She always had a sparkle in her eye and a smile on her face.  Shirley was a great listener and helped everyone she knew to feel loved and uplifted.
Shirley is survived by her husband Dale and children Allen (JoAnn) Briggs, Leslie (Brian) Hatch, Leann (Lindsay) Stoddard, Lori (Mark) Taylor, and Lyndie (Galen) Perkins.  Shirley has 17 grandchildren and 10 ¾ great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her son Darrell, her parents Richard and Lorentz Jardine and brothers Don, Bob, and Leslie and her sister Phyllis Jean. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 11:00 at the Farmington Rock Chapel (272 N Main).  There will be a viewing from 9:30 – 10:45 at the church before the funeral.
Interment will be at Memorial Lakeview Mortuary:  1640 E Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, UT.
