Sherrie Lee Giroux

March 4, 1961 — May 12, 2021

On Wednesday, May 12, 2021, Sherrie Lee Harney Giroux, devoted mother, and stepmother, passed away at age 60 after losing her battle with ovarian cancer.
Sherrie was born on March 4, 1961, in Las Vegas, NV to Leo Harney and Lena (Theobald) Busey. She attended Highland High School and was an accomplished flight attendant supervisor with Morris Air. Sherrie and her high school sweetheart, Reggie Wilson Sr., were the proud parents of her first-born son, Reggie Wilson. She later married Michael Giroux and retired after the birth of their baby girl, Janae Giroux. Her children were her pride and joy.
Anyone that truly knew Sherrie could tell you she was born a survivor. Her life was not easy, but she constantly worked towards a better future for herself and her children. In her younger years, she overcame addiction, homelessness, and trauma. Her fortitude was unmatched. Sherrie could form a connection with any person from any walk of life. She had a deep love for all living things but was particularly passionate about animals and flowers, a trait her children were lucky enough to inherit. She found happiness in giving to others, whether that meant opening her home to someone that recently found themselves homeless, her volunteer work for Mi Casa, or the thoughtful gifts she gave on a regular basis to her loved ones.
Sherrie was preceded in death by her father Leo Harney, her mother Lena Busey, her stepmother Donella Wheeler, and her sister Vickie Harney Burrow. Her amazing qualities (and good looks) are carried on through her children Reggie Wilson and Janae Giroux. She is survived by her son Reggie Wilson (little Reggie), daughter-in-law Shaylee Wilson, daughter Janae Giroux (Koukla), stepson Jacob Giroux, step daughter-in-law Katy Giroux, brother Ken Harney, sister-in-law Cindy Harney, grandchildren: Kaeda (Pookie), Kenya (Monkey), RJ (Sunshine), Shaw (Chachi), and Carson, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. As per her wishes, there will be no memorial or funeral service. To those whose lives she touched or brightened, she asks that you honor her memory with a donation to your local ASPCA.
