Sherrie Lee Dirkson
10/20/1948 ~ 06/15/2024
Sherrie Lee Dirkson, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully on June 15, 2024.
Sherrie was born on October 20, 1948, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Verd and Arla (St. Jeor) Gates. She graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1967.
Sherrie married Richard Dirkson on February 14, 1976. They celebrated 38 years of marriage before Richard passed away.
Sherrie was everyone’s biggest supporter, fan mentor ect. All she ever wanted to do is show up for every person she could. From football, baseball and softball fields, she was there without a doubt. She also loved taking time to teach cooking, crafting, etc. to anyone that wanted to learn. She was the warden of our family. She was great at keeping her kids in line even into their adult years. Her biggest passion and saving grace in her last months was her grand and great grandbabies. They were her absolute whole world. She was the best “maha” ever.
Sherrie is survived by her children Darrin (Anne), Monique, Caitlin (Alan) and Adam (Chelsea). Sisters Kathy Jackson and Vicky Hofhine, brother Randy Gates, 7 grandchildren, Rebecca, Rachelle, Jacob, Alyssa, Bridger, Madison and Riyan, 7 great grandchildren, Paisley, Logan, Declan, Penelope, Allison, Holden and Dawsyn. We all love you and miss you so much Maha!
Sherrie was preceded in death by her parents, her son Nicholas Verd Dirkson and husband Richard Dennis Dirkson.
