Sherina Lynn Romero Gooden

December 18, 1969 — September 15, 2020

Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend passed away unexpectedly on September 15, 2020, in Mesa Arizona at the age of 50.

Sherina, also affectionately known as ‘Nina’, ‘Ween’, and ‘Cuddie’, was born on December 18, 1969 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Victor R. Romero and Maryann Vialpondo. She was born with significant health issues and wasn’t expected to live past infancy. However, she was a fighter and proved the doctor’s wrong year after year.
She was a free spirit who lived life on her own terms.
She married Earol Gooden Sr, later divorced, and became the mother of two children.
Sherina loved her children, Lorica and Earol (DJ), but it was her grandchildren that brought her the most joy.
Sherina had recently reconnected with the love of her life, Rudy Reyes, and shared the last year of her life with him in Arizona.
Although Sherina wasn’t known for her cooking abilities, she could change a tire or replace a carburetor like a pro.
She was always willing to help out family or friends who were down on their luck, with a meal or a buck or two, whatever she could do. She would gladly give you the shirt off her back but don’t expect her to share her candy or snacks!
Sherina was part of a large extended family with many aunts, uncles, and cousins that she loved to spend time with.
She liked playing pool, and buying her granddaughter shoes that matched her own.
With her easy going personality she made friend’s easily, wherever she went. But it was her friendship with her brother Nick that meant the most to her.
Sherina is survived by her son Earol (DJ) Gooden Jr., her grandson Trenton Anderson, granddaughter Sophya Allred, brother Nick Eric Romero (Erika), nephews Nicholas, Victor, Dominick and Rogan, nieces Krysta and Dalayna, her love Rudy Reyes, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter Lorica Gooden.
