Shawna Egbert, 81, of Kearns, Utah passed away on January 27, 2024, at Legacy House of Taylorsville after valiantly battling a lung disease for over four decades.
Her husband of 55 years, Clyde Egbert preceded her in death. They will be reunited with their beloved pets, Muffy and Missy, at the graveside services; which falls on their 61st Wedding Anniversary. Shawna is survived by her two children, Penny Egbert Bivens and Eddie Egbert (Jennifer), and seven grandchildren – Anthony (Maegen), Joshua, Greg, Kyla, Tyler (Anna), Keaton, and Sadie.
Shawna was very social and loved to care for people, especially by feeding them. One of her favorite sayings was “do you want something to eat?” And “get yourself a snack.” She wanted to be a nurse and got to be in that role taking care of her brother after his double lung transplant and for her husband during his 5-year struggle with dementia. She also loved children and worked as teacher’s aide for many years at West Kearns Elementary school. She also helped her brother Kevin care for his grandson, Maloc.
Shawna was born on December 8, 1942, in Ogden, Utah to Floyd E. McArthur and Hilda Dross McArthur. She grew up in Idaho Falls and attended one month of Bonneville High School before being involved in a life-changing train wreck. Shawna was the third oldest of 8 siblings and is survived by her brothers Ferel (Susan) McArthur and sister Tammy Hamilton of Idaho Falls, and Kevin McArthur of Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Val Noles, Karen Lindsey, and brothers Terrel and Jerel McArthur.
