Shawn Long

Shawn W. Long, 44, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in Park City, Utah. Shawn was a longtime resident of Park City. He was born on March 29, 1973 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to George W. Long and Claudia (Montoya) Long. He was a 1991 Graduate of Kearns High School and later went on to earn his Bachelor Degree. He was a Gulf War veteran and proudly served in the United States Navy on the USS Sacramento. He worked as an Executive Accounts Manager for ECHO Global Logistics since 2007.
Anyone that knew Shawn knew that his passion was football. He served the Park City community for 12 years as football coach, a former President of the Park City District and current Conference Executive Board Member. He was not only involved in football, he also umpired baseball games. The loves of Shawn’s life were his children and his finance’, Diana Ramirez. He adored his boys and loved being a father and believed it to be his greatest achievement.
He is survived by his fiance’ Diana Ramirez, father and mother, George and Claudia Long, his sister, Roberta Long (Joey Sanchez), his children, Shawn Jr, Michael, Joshua, Zared, Alonzo, Joseph, Alexander, Adam and Augustine, niece, Isabel Sanchez, nephew, Liam Sanchez, aunties, uncles and his many cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Marge and Gene Long, Pete and Mary Montoya, sister, Eleanor Hope Long.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 -11:00 am Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Park City. 1505 White Pine Canyon Road.
Viewing, Visitation and Reception to follow Mass from 11:00 am – 2:15 pm.
Military Honors will be presented from 2:15 – 3:00 pm.
We will miss his beautiful smile and his beautiful soul.
