Shawn Hamilton, age 56, passed away Mar. 4, 2014, in Murray, Utah. He was born on Jan. 17, 1958 in Teaneck, New Jersey to Virginia Theresa Sloney & Frank Hamilton. Shawn married Etta Eager on May 19, 1984.
Shawn earned a bachelor’s degree in statistics and computer science. He married a beautiful and loving wife in which he had six children, all boys. He enjoyed woodworking, scouting, and even needlepoint. Shawn is a member of the order of the arrow. The biggest accomplishment is his sons, and the way they grew up to be good men.
Shawn is survived by: his loving wife, Etta; sons, Caleb (Stephanie), Joshua (Mylie), Adam (Liz), Jared, Aaron and Noah; his brother, Bruce (Denise) Hamilton; and nephews, Jason & Bryan Hamilton. Preceded in death by: his father, Frank Hamilton; and his mother, Virginia Hamilton.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Mar. 11, 2014 at 12 Noon, at the LDS church building located at 5200 S. 700 W., Murray. A viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 E. 4580 S., SLC. In lieu of flowers donations may be made at the Security Service Federal Credit Union to the Shawn Hamilton Special Fund Account.
