Shawn Davies

March 31, 1961 — June 15, 2015

Born March 3, 1961 in Salt Lake to Dale and Merle Davies and was welcomed with loving arms on June 15, 2015 to his recently deceased mother and grandmother along with many other relatives.
Shawn grew up in Murray and graduated from Murray High. He enjoyed many hobbies including collecting Hot Wheels and valuable coins. He enjoyed photography and spending time with his family in the outdoors.
Shawn was a co-founder of the Ancient Historical Research Foundation, which took him on many adventures all over the U.S. searching for mystery petroglyphs. In his adventures he found ancient artifacts and discovered new sites.
In his younger years Shawn was the world record holder of the Atari Asteroid Arcade Game – playing 36 hours on one quarter.
Shawn was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many callings including Bishop. He served an honorable full-time mission in Portugal where he met his eternal companion and best friend Maria. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Jordan River Utah Temple.
Shawn is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Maria; sons Jared (Jenica) and Spencer; granddaughters, Valencia and Naomi; father, Dale; brothers and sister Kelly (Roxanne) Cory, Shannon, Brian (Kirsten), Brendon (Kuulei) and many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his mother Merle, and grandparents and nephew Samuel.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the Millcreek Ward, 4220 South Jeannine Drive (approx. 420 East), Murray, with a viewing beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan.
