Amazing mother, grandma and sister, Sharron Marie Gane Nunley passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 27th, 2015 from heart failure.
Sharron was born to Ernest and Geneva Frank Gane October 29, 1933 in Salt Lake City, She grew up in a loving family with her siblings Gene and Kathy. Sharron was a cheerleader at Granite High School where she graduated in 1952. Sharron married her high school sweetheart Philip Smith Nunley in the Salt Lake LDS temple on October 9, 1952. They were married for 59 ½ wonderful years. Sharron started her career at New York Life Insurance and also worked for Skaggs Corporate Offices where she met many lifelong friends.
Sharron and Phil waited 16 years to finally have their only child, Allison Marie. She was the apple of their eye.
Sharron and Phil had a great passion for collecting and restoring antique cars, which took them on many wonderful car tours and shows throughout the country. In her later years Sharron became a travel agent and was able to travel to many wonderful places with her family. After becoming a grandma her most cherished moments were spending time with her granddaughter Alesha and grandson Cameron. She never missed one moment of their lives. She was always there to make everything extra special.
She is survived by her only child Allison and wonderful son-in-law Stoney Beck. Her beloved Granddaughter Alesha Marie and her Grandson Cameron Philip, her Brother Gene Gane and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 3rd at 11:30 am at the Holladay 1st Ward 2065 E. 4675 S. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 2nd from 6-8pm at Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary 4670 South Highland Drive and on Thursday 1 hour prior to services. Interment Holladay Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Shriners Hospital or the American Heart Society.
