Sharon Rose Carter passed away on May 2, 2022 in Riverton, Utah. She was born on July 8, 1940 in Longmont, Colorado to William Edwin Wellington and Martha May Perry Wellington. She married David L. Carter on April 1, 1960.
Sharon had many hobbies. She was interested in and very good at tole painting and colored pencil art, fired glass art, hand and machine embroidery, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She became very proficient at making beautiful quilts for family members and friends. She had a good eye for colors and loved to make very detailed colored pencil portraits, once special piece is an Indian Chief, which took over 60 hours to complete. She loved to collect Lladro figurines and antiques which she decorated her home with. Her most loved hobby was spoiling her grand kids. Her accomplishments were many: Cub Scout Den Mother, Relief Society work director, President of Utah Heritage Artists Association. Won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards for colored pencil art at International Heritage Artists competition – Chicago, IL., and 1st place award Riverton City Art Show.
Sharon and Dave served as Officers and President of Lehi Square Dance Club. Sharon was a partner in Daco Precision Manufacturing and Carter Leasing, Ltd.
She is survived by her husband, Dave Carter; daughter, Jeanna & Lynn Lewis; sons, Ronald and Richard Carter. Grandchildren – Tyson and Lauren Lewis; JaNae and Dr. Phil Salko; Preston Lewis and Danielle Lewis. Sister, Susan & Marvin Yancey and sister-in-law, Jill Wellington.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents: William Edwin Wellington and Martha May Perry Wellington; brother, William Edwin (Eddy) Wellington.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022, 11:00 a.m., at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary, 3115 East Bengal Blvd (7800 South), Cottonwood Heights, Utah. Friends and family may visit from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment will be at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery.
