Sharon Ann Hughes passed from this mortal life on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. Sharon was born on April 2, 1942 in New Minster, British Columbia, Canada. She moved to the United States to attend College at BYU. she spent several years in Hawaii and finished her degree in Liberal Arts at BYU Hawaii. She started on her first novel while in Hawaii but didn't finish and publish it until 2019. She spent most of her life in Utah but loved spending the winter with a friend in Palm Beach, Florida
Sharee, as she was known by all her friends, was a fun-loving personality. She loved life and was invovled in many activities in her community and church. She loved food and enjoyed cooking for her friends. She was a connoisseur, not just in the culinary arts, but also in painting, calligraphy, stage performance, and writing. Sharee loved the theater, singing, and performing, and even directing stage plays. She loved sharing her love of the stage with her family and friends. Some of her favorite times were playing the piano and singing with her nieces.
Sharee had always wanted to be an author, so, when she retired she decided it was time to finish what she started back in Hawaii. She wrote 14 books until she fell ill from Cancer.
Sharee was a member of the Writers Guild, a poetry club, and study group and attended until her body was no longer able to accommodate her desires.
Sharee was preceded in death by her Mother Mable Gertrude Preston Hughes and her Father Francis Bertram Hughes.
She is survived by her brother Ronald Bertram Hughes and his wife Kristy Alger Hughes along with seven nieces and nephews and sixteen great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing Monday, June 3rd at Memorial Mountain view Cemetery, 3115 East Bengal Blvd (7800 South). The viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. followed by a graveside service.
