Sharon Geniel Hazelgren Saldivar

March 29, 1951 — June 21, 2022

Sharon Geniel Hazelgren Saldivar, Age 71, danced into the sunset on June 21, 2022, after fighting a valiant battle with metastatic cancer. Sharon was born on March 29, 1951, in Salt Lake City, UT to Henry and Dorothy (Farrington) Hazelgren.
After dedicating her time to raising her children, she later married her sweetheart, Julian Sam Saldivar on September 26, 2015, for time and all eternity.
Sharon was a beacon, mother, and friend to all. She was very proud of her honorary titles as “Cousin Sharon”, “Momma”, and “Bonus Mom”, given to her by friends of her children as well as immediate and extended family. When asked, “What is the one thing you would take with you to a deserted island”? She replied, “All of my people”. And she would. Though she was teased about having favorites, everyone knows she loved all, unconditionally; a love that will endure. She believed there is nothing more important than family and friendships.
Sharon was a wanderlust spirit who enjoyed being outside. She loved traveling, camping, and had an appreciation for nature. When unable to travel, she tended to her many indoor plants and flower gardens with her green thumb. She loved crafting, eating good food, and laughing. She was very proud of her life on the farm in Mountain Home, UT. She loved working on genealogy and making the lives of those who have passed on, come alive through photos and stories. She had a zest for life, was caring, genuine, honest, honorable, and strong-willed.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Julian Sam Saldivar. Children, Wayne Hartwig, Michelle (Troy) Johnson, Tammy (Jason) Stanfield, and Bil Wollen. Bonus children, Tom (Cheryl) Saldivar, Kristy (Gary) Godwin, Kim (Russ) Allen. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, sisters Noni (Jay) Benson, Marlene (Mike) Hutchings, stepbrother, Darryl (Midge) Hazelgren, great aunts Bonnie Newman and Joyce Farrington, uncle Jonathan Farrignton. Multiple nieces and nephews, and her bonus sister and best friend of 51 years, Julie (Rick) Willson. She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Hazelgren, mother, Dorothy (Hazelgren) Nolte, Sister, Lisa Meyers, “furry friend”, Oreo, and several other dear and important friends.
Grandma Sharon wants to ensure every one of her grandchildren understands how much she loves and adores them. She will be watching you from heaven and wants to remind you, “Someday I’ll wish upon a star, wake up where the clouds are far behind me. Where trouble melts like lemon drops, high above the chimney tops. That’s where you’ll find me”. She wants all to be “honest, kind, and speak of our memories…”, throughout your lives.
Viewing and Services will be held on July 01, 2022, at Lake Hills Mortuary on 10055 S State, Sandy, UT. Viewing will commence at 1:00 pm. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm. Graveside will be held immediately following the services. We would like to extend a very special heart-felt expression of gratitude to Dr. Nitin B. Chandramouli, Dr. Erika Lloyd, and their teams. Additionally, mom was grateful for Amy Hartman and her team at Solstice Home Health, Hospice, and Palliative Care. She had these special words for her hospice RN Case Manager, Shaun Boyle, “Your gentle care added precious time to my life. You made me comfortable, brought me peace, and gave me the energy and courage I needed for closure”. Thank you all, for the role you played in the life of our beautiful mother, sister, cousin, aunt, wife, confidante, and friend. May you always contribute in keeping her memory alive.
