Sharon Elaine Covington

December 16, 1956 — September 20, 2017

Sharon Elaine Covington passed away peacefully on September 20, 2017. Sharon was born December 16, 1956, in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of Marion U. Homann Covington and Dean W. Covington. She lived in West Jordan, Utah until 1995, then in Sandy, Utah until her death. She worked for 32 years with South Valley Training Company and loved the staff and her co-workers there. Sharon will be remembered for her loving and outgoing nature. In spite of her disabilities, she was always looking out for others and found friends wherever she went. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she enjoyed all church activities, especially special mutual activities and serving as a visiting teacher. She also loved to host dinners and try new recipes. She was a big fan of the Utah Jazz. She is survived by her brother, P. Duane Covington. She is preceded in death by her mother, Marion Covington.
There will be a viewing on Monday, September 25, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd., West Jordan. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Midvalley 7th Ward, 1175 E. 7800 S., Sandy, Utah, with a viewing 1 hour before. Interment at Memorial Redwood Cemetery.
