Sharon Maxine Brinkerhoff

Sharon Maxine Brinkerhoff, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 21, 2024. Born on July 27, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Sharon was the cherished daughter of Maxine Glenn-Jackson and Heber J. Glenn. She was the eldest of six children, lovingly guiding her three brothers—John, Robert, and Ray—and her two sisters, Phyllis and Rosalynn.

On October 13, 1960, Sharon married her first love, Gary Brinkerhoff, beginning a beautiful journey together that spanned over five decades. Their love story was one of deep companionship and mutual respect, and together they raised four daughters, who became their greatest source of pride and joy. After Gary's passing in 2011, Sharon continued to cherish the memories of their life together, carrying his love with her always.

In 1971, Sharon and Gary settled in Sandy, Utah, where they built a warm and loving home. This home became the heart of the family, filled with laughter, love, and countless memories. Sharon lived there until 2023, always keeping it as a welcoming place for her family and friends.

Sharon thrived as a hairstylist for more than 40 years, dedicating herself to her work with a passion that touched the lives of many. She took immense pride in caring for her clients, ensuring each person felt valued and beautiful. With her sense of style, Sharon made it a point to present herself with grace and professionalism every day. Her work was not just a career but a testament to her commitment to excellence and her desire to uplift others.

While Sharon didn’t travel often, some of her great pleasures were her trips to Northern California to visit her daughter Michell. She delighted in exploring San Francisco and the Napa Valley, with a particular fondness for the wine train.

Sharon was known for her empathetic heart and her ability to truly listen. She had a unique gift for offering comfort and wisdom, often simply by being present and hearing others out. Her kindness and respect for others were the guiding principles of her life, and she consistently chose to take the high road, even when faced with challenges.

A woman of faith, Sharon found solace and strength in her relationship with the Lord. She was a dedicated student of the scriptures, finding joy in the lessons and comfort in the promises they offered.

Sharon is survived by her beloved daughters, Michell (Steve) Galligan, Debbie (Barry) Huddleston, Linda (Darin) Calderwood, and Jenifer (Chris) Case; her cherished grandchildren, Christine (John) Galanti, Jeffery Williams, Travis Calderwood, Sarah Calderwood, Jaycee Case, and Cheyenne Case; and her great-grandson, Alex Galanti. She is also survived by her siblings, Robert (Kathy) Glenn, Ray (Kate) Glenn, Phyllis (Larry) Nacastro, and Rosalynn (Riley) Roberts. Sharon is now reunited with her dear husband, Gary, her brother John Glenn, and her precious granddaughter Jaclynn Williams, all of whom preceded her in death.

Sharon’s legacy of love, grace, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will remain with us always.
