Sharlene Snow Lyman

January 23, 1928 — September 2, 2018

Sharlene Snow Lyman returned home to her Father in Heaven and her beloved husband, Kurt M Lyman, on September 2, 2018, surrounded by those who loved her dearly.
Sharlene was born January 23, 1928 in Overton, Nevada, to Rulon Alma Snow and Marian Miller Snow. She lived a happy childhood in her cherished Saint George, Utah, where she would later attend Dixie College.  Sharlene completed her education at Brigham Young University, Provo, and used her knowledge to teach elementary school.
Sharlene taught school until being called to serve a Latter-day Saint mission in post-war Germany. There she brought light, joy, and hope to Latter-day Saints and was rewarded by meeting her sweetheart, Kurt.  Upon returning home from their missions, Kurt and Sharlene married for time and all eternity in the Saint George Temple on December 28, 1954.  Kurt and Sharlene raised four faithful children: Lance, Marta, Thayne, and Garrett.
Sharlene lived a life of sacrifice and service and exemplified what it means to be a servant of the Lord as she served those around her and in various church callings, including the calling of Relief Society President. She cared intensely for Kurt for 18 years before he was released from his illness, October 25, 1986.  Sharlene continued to minister to all in need even through breast cancer and several heart attacks.  She sought to fill the world around her with the Spirit and created beauty by learning new skills and perfecting her talents of music, sewing, carpentry, upholstery, and painting.
In all that Sharlene did, she was an example of Christ and the definition of Christlike love. Through her love, compassion, and service, Sharlene has left her mark on this world by making it a better place to live for generations to come.
Sharlene is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings: Carrole, Jean, and Lowell.
Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, September 8, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Murray Mortuary 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow in the Memorial Mountain View Cemetery, 3115 Bengal Blvd., Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
