Scott Takao Kojima

West Jordan, UT- Our Little Buddha, Scott Takao Kojima passed away suddenly on February 15, 2021 at the age of 61. He was born May 17, 1959 in Salt Lake City to Tadayoshi and Kimiko Kojima. He lost both of his parents at a very young age and was raised by his uncle, Harry Osawa in their family home in Salt Lake City.
Scott married Sue Dalton on June 19, 2002. They were best friends and companions. Sue was the spice of his life. Together they shared many interests and adventures. They loved to cruise and they looked forward to their yearly golf tournament trip to Mesquite with the Gonzales family, which was truly his second family.
Over the years, Scott met many people who became his friends and many who also became his family. They will all tell you that he was the kindest, most patient man they knew. He loved to joke around, he loved to shop, and he loved to travel. Everyone knew, however, that his greatest passions were bowling and golf.
Even though Scott never had children of his own, he was a father figure to Jenn, his best friend Rory’s daughter. He also thought of Sue’s boys as his own and his grandchildren were the light of his life. One of his favorite things to do was to teach them how to play sports.
Scott worked for 34 years at Hoyt in their shipping and receiving department and in 2018 he also began working part time at Home Depot. Scott was laid off from Hoyt in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic and went to work full time at Home Depot. He enjoyed his job because he loved his coworkers and he loved meeting new people.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Tadayoshi and Kimiko, his uncle Harry, as well as his many other aunts and uncles, all of whom he adored.
He is survived by his wife, Sue, his stepsons Troy (Brittney) Robertson and Robbie (Annie) Robertson, and his six grandchildren: Shandon, Shiane, Blake, Brody and Taylor, Kaiden. He is also survived by his aunt Midge Takahashi, and his two cousins Barbara Takahashi and Stan Oki.
