Scott Lyle Carlsen Born Aug 3,1949
Family and friends I announce that on April 6, 2021, my man of 54 years has left the building!
Sweethearts at age17, Scott married the love of his life Lynne, together they shared an incredibly adventurous 54 years. The journey of their life took them through many exciting changes and challenging times. Together they built the house they resided in for 47 years, where they raised their two children Shannon and Shane. They created a home where family and friends were always welcome, building unforgettable and lasting memories. He loved helping his neighbors. Scott was a man dedicated to providing the most for his family. He was a devoted rock-n-roll husband to Lynne and a hell of a father to Shannon and Shane. He was a legendary Grandpa, spending every moment boasting over each grandchild and their accomplishments. Physically and emotionally coaching them through sports and life’s ups and downs. He was even blessed with the opportunity to deliver his first Grandson (Grandchildren: Bailey, Jadyn, Bronson, Kacie, Bode. Great grandsons: Kashton, Karson) Scott had four siblings Stephanie, Sean, Stacy, and Spencer whom he kept a close relationship with, they were each so special to him. They even share a special pact to keep the generations to come together and continue to cherish the family unit.
Scott had the biggest heart and managed to make every person feel seen, heard, and special. He was kind and welcoming to every person he had encountered and never met a stranger. He always kept everyone laughing with his endless humor and sarcasm, right up until the very end. Scott was highly animated when telling stories and jokes, he had an infectious laugh that everyone knew.
Even from a young age, Scott was a hard worker. Between changing the world’s largest tires and becoming the famous “man behind the desk” at Cover-Pools, to helping landscape the Salt Lake valley under his son’s company. He took pride in his work and genuinely cared about each customer and coworker. Through his employment at Cover- Pools, he was able to travel the world, including such places as Saudi Arabia and Cypress, together Scott and Lynne traveled to many beautiful places, their favorite place being Mexico. He had an obsession for music, the classic’s, rocks, blues, and the oldies but goodies. You could often find him breaking out the air guitar solo that rivaled Lynyrd Skynyrd. Scott was an avid reader. His passion to learn about spirituality, scientific theories, history, and space led him to create an impressive library of his own. He had a love for gardening and took great pride in his organic, home grown vegetables and herbs, being called “Mr. Green Jeans”.
Scott went to his first Nascar race in the late 80’s which is where he fell in love with the sport of racing and became Dale Earnhardt’s biggest fan. Dale was known as the “Intimidator” Scott loved his aggressive style of driving and how he would completely intimidate his competition. One could see Scott visualizing himself in the car as Dale Earnhardt would cross the finish line.
Scott left us with nothing but exceptional wisdom and unconditional love. Never failing to ask, “Have I told you how much I love you lately?”
He will be greatly missed but not forgotten! We love you Scott, Dad and Gramps!
And for those of us still on life’s journey, Scott would say, “Boots-n-Saddles!
The family would like to thank Scott’s team of doctors for the quality care over the years. We want to especially thank Elevation hospice for the comfort and loving care they provided to our family.
We will celebrate Scott’s incredible life on June 26th, from 6:00-9:00 PM in Riverton, Utah. Please email your RSVP to carlsencreations68@gmail.com and watch Scott’s facebook page for more details.
