Scott Kay Rawley

April 3, 1961 — March 31, 2016

We are sad to report that Scott Kay Rawley of Bountiful, Utah passed away 31 March 2016.  Scott was the son of the late Edwin V. Rawley and Virginia Lee Kay Rawley.  He is survived by siblings Lee Ann, Kent and Alan, by his first wife Lisa with daughters Erin and Elisabeth, and by his wife Rachel, and stepchildren Sawyer and Lucy.
Scott Rawley served an LDS mission to Osaka Japan and was a graduate of the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and Master of Science in Speech Pathology.  By profession Scott was a speech pathologist, a former employee of Intermountain Healthcare, and current employee of the Davis School District.  Scott is a remarkably talented man, a prolific reader with knowledge of languages, science, history and the arts.  Besides playing the mandolin and violin, he hand crafted violins, having been trained at the Peter Prier School of Violin Making.  Scott’s carefully crafted instruments will bless the lives of others for generations.
Scott Rawley loved primitive camping and historical reenactments.  He will be long remembered by many in the organization called “The Longhunters” who specialize in reenactments of historical events on the 18th century American frontier.  Scott was skilled in leatherworking, the making of knives, gunstocks and black powder firearms with superb historical accuracy.  He often made jewelry for loved ones that will be cherished as they remember his patience, love and devotion.
Scott was a gentle, thoughtful and attentive man who loved the simple things of life and cherished his family.  May god bless Scott with eternal rewards that suit his kindness, loyalty and peaceable nature.
Two memorial services will be held, the first hosted by Rachel at 7PM Tuesday 5 April 2016 at the Bountiful 14thWard LDS chapel located at 1500 South 600 East, Bountiful, Utah.  The second memorial service hosted by Lisa will be held 7:30PM Wednesday 6 April 2016 at the Bountiful 34th Ward LDS Chapel, 540 N 1200 E, Bountiful, Utah.
