Saundra Erickson-Almond, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on May 30, 2024, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Saundra was born July 28, 1961 to Anita Emery Erickson and Ronald Erickson. Saundra grew up in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, attending Brighton High School and graduating with the class of 1979. She continued her education at the University of Utah. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, fulfilling many callings and was an example of Christlike love, compassion and charity. She always thought of the needs of others before her own and accepted everyone without judgement.
Saundra was a devoted mother, and loved spending time with her children Kyle, Tiffani, Angela and Tyler. On July 16, 1994, Saundra married Kelly Almond, forming a blended family with his son Cody, that she cherished deeply. Then on November 28, 1995, Kelly and Saundra were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. Her family was the center of her world, and she dedicated her life to raising her children with unconditional love and care. Saundra's early adoption of a camcorder in 1987 allowed her to capture countless cherished memories on VHS, a testament to her love for her children and family.
She cared so much for animals and all living creatures. She would rescue and foster them with love and care. She would even catch the smallest insects to set them free. She truly was a person that wouldn't hurt a fly.
Saundra worked various jobs throughout her life, oriented around customer service, she loved helping people. Saundra's life was a beautiful example of love and dedication. She taught her family that no matter what challenges life may bring, having faith and love is the key to overcoming them.
A Mother's Love
In every moment, big or small,
Her love was present, through it all.
A guiding light, a gentle hand,
She taught us how to love and stand.
Through days of laughter, nights of care,
Her warmth was with us, everywhere.
Her legacy, a heart so true,
In every breath, she'll live anew.
We cherish now, the love she gave,
Her spirit strong, her heart so brave.
In every memory, she will stay,
A mother's love, forever and a day
Saundra is survived by her husband Kelly Almond; her children Kyle (Aurélie) Erickson, Tiffani (Mike) Barney, Angela (Scott) Steadham, Cody (Ashley) Almond, and Tyler Erickson-Almond, and step-son Andrew (Taylor) Bryan.
