Sarah "Joan" Berryman, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on July 10, 1942, to John and Charlotte Nelson, Joan brought light and love to all who knew her.
Joan married her sweetheart, George Henry Berryman, on March 20, 1964. Their love was sealed for eternity in the LDS Salt Lake Temple on February 9, 1972.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Mark Alan Berryman(1989) and Marty Lee Berryman(2017), along with her son-in-law, Michael Garn Woodall (2020). Joan is survived by her devoted husband, George; her daughters, Marcie Westbrook(Peter) and Michaele Green(Devan), and a Daughter-in-law Kristi Berryman; and seven cherished grandchildren.
Joan loved spending her summers at the family cabin in Bear Lake, where she enjoyed driving the speedboat and soaking in the sun and the beauty of the outdoors. She had a deep love for travel, and her favorite destination was Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where she cherished camping, fishing and of course shopping for western clothing. She also found joy riding on the back of their motorcycle with George during long rides, embracing the freedom and adventure of the open road. Joan could spend hours immersed in puzzles and word searches and she had a passion for crafting and creating beautiful art.
After retiring from a long career as an assembler from Becton Dickinson, Joan often reminisced about the many friendships she formed during her career.
Her kindness, creativity, and love for her family will leave an enduring mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
A graveside memorial for Joan will be held on January 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Murray City Cemetery. 5490 S Vine St, Murray, UT 84107.
