Sandy passed away peacefully in Salt Lake City, UT on Tuesday, April 9th 2019 from Interstitial Fibrosis. She was born March 18th, 1949 to Pearl and Lloyd Butterfield. In February of 1966 Sandy married Robert H. Garside with whom she had three children. Later divorced. Sandy retired from the Utah State Tax Commission to pursue a dream to run a general store in Copperton, UT. Sandy will be remembered for her love of crafts, specifically her flower arrangements, needlepoint, her tole painting, and the jewelry she enjoyed making. She loved to bake. Her carrot cake and pound cake were the best hands down. She loved shopping! We often joked that she had stock in Nordstrom’s and QVC. And she loved her jewelry. Each outfit she wore was completed with matching accessories. But what she loved most were her three grandchildren Matt, Ryan and Kiera, who were the loves of her life. Grandma will always love you to the moon and back.
Sandy loved angels and now lives among them. She loved gardening and one of our final conversations with her was that the gardeners in heaven were moving aside to welcome her. Her broken body renewed and ready to get back to the things she enjoyed.
Sandy is survived by daughter Wendy (John) and sons Troy (Tammy) and Kevin (Rose) and her three grandchildren. Survived by one sister, several nieces and nephews, and her dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two brothers, several nieces and nephews and best friend Jeanine.
Mom was looking forward to being reunited with her mom, daddy, little brother and her beloved companion, Sassy.
