Sandra Lee Johns

June 15, 1947 — November 16, 2020

On November 16, 2020, Sandra Lee “Grams” Johns passed away peacefully at age 73 after a long battle with cancer. It would be wrong to say that Sandra lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Sandra stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly looks like. She was born on June 15, 1947, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lyman and Leora Hollingsworth. She married her longtime friend, and love Dennis Lloyd Johns, on February of 1964, who preceded her death in 2018.
Sandra was the biological mother of three boys. However, many people considered Sandra their mom. When her children were young, the phrase “stay-at-home-mom” didn’t exist. It was usual for women to stay home with the children while their husbands worked. But even by the standards of the era, Sandra was an exceptional wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. And she always ensured that every child who came to her home was safe, healthy, and happy.
Sandra “Grams” is survived by her sister, Beverly Dansie, her two sons and one daughter-in-law, Dennis Craig and Pam Johns, and Brian Johns. Grandchildren, Tyler, Brian, Derek, Samantha, Christine, and Brindi, plus twelve great grandchildren and her many nephews and nieces All of these she loved and touched deeply.
Sandra, was preceded in death by: Dennis L. Johns husband, Robert Patrick Johns son, Tanya Prince granddaughter, Andrew Johns grandson, Lyman and Leora Hollingsworth parents, plus two brothers, and three sisters.
Sandra never liked being the center of attention and per her wishes there will be no services. Her Facebook page will remain open and all are welcome to post memories and final words to her there.
