Sam Hirase

Sam I. Hirase peacefully passed away Wednesday March 16, 2016 from kidney failure. Sam was born on February 17, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Hikotaro and Toraye Hirase. He married Alice Kasuga on November 10, 1952. She passed away on August 3, 2002.He is survived by his brother Bobby (Mary) of Seattle Washington, his four children Christine Hirase-Bragg (Terry) of Murray, Curtis of West Valley City, Cynthia (Michael) of West Valley City, Kyle of West Valley City, grandchildren Kristy Davis (Jackson) of Kennewick Washington, two great grandchildren Amaya and Alivia and his beloved dogs Chole and Mooch. He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.He loved golf, fishing, and working in his yard.He battled various illnesses for the last four years of his life and his family would like to thank Dr. Scott Sheridan, Dr. Jeffrey Eakin, Dr. Orrenzo Snyder, Utah Cancer Specialists and The Huntsman Cancer Institute for his care. We would also like to thank Legacy Rehabilitation Center for the care they gave him during his final days.Funeral services and internment will be held Saturday March 26, 11:00 AM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road. Viewing will be held on Friday March 25, 6-8 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan and one hour prior to services.
