Sally Jorgensen

January 1, 1936 — July 16, 2017

Sally Luke Jorgensen, 81, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and those who knew her. Sally was born in Orangeville, Utah January 1, 1936 to George Emile Luke and Iris Justesen. She married her sweetheart, George J. Jorgensen in the Salt Lake Temple on August 8, 1958. She was the type of person who quietly made a difference in the lives of those with whom she came in contact. Sally had a keen sense and awareness for those who needed a friend, a little service or a just a smile from a friendly face. She would often perform anonymous acts of kindness and received great joy when she could brighten someone’s day. Sally was a very talented homemaker, an excellent cook, seamstress, and gardener. She enjoyed making chocolates with her late husband, George. She also enjoyed quilting. One of the cherished keepsakes and memories her grandchildren have a Grandma Sally is the beautiful patchwork quilt she made for their high school graduations. She also spent countless hours pruning and weeding in her beautiful garden. However, her true passion and love was for her family. Every grandchild believed that they were her favorite. Sally will always be remembered for her tender heart, love for her family and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George, parents and siblings: Maud, Carmen, and Jimmie. Survivors include, daughter Vickie Pendleton (David) of Alpine, UT; son, Kevin Jorgensen (Marcella) of Las Vegas, NV; son, Kelly Jorgensen (LaRinda) of Taylorsville, UT; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; siblings Joe Luke (Carolyn), Sammy Siteman, and Camille Anderson (Donald). Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 22 at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 S Redwood Road.
