Sallie Tunstall Smith Haslam, age 88, passed away on December 12, 2017, in Holladay, Utah. Born October 17, 1929 to Frank Allan Smith and Florida Booth Smith, in Montclair, New Jersey, she shared her growing up years with her twin siblings, Margaret (Peggie) Hart Smith Windsor and Allan Montague Smith (deceased). She often reminisced on the happy summers spent with her family at the beach house.
In December of 1955 she married Francis Gunnell LeRoy Haslam in San Antonio, TX. Many years of compatible marriage found them attending social and work events together, Sallie graciously showing an interest in everyone she met, sharing her gift as a natural conversationalist. She worried for, and fondly spoke of, Peggie, Allan, and their families. She enjoyed her extended family and supported family events, asking for updates on her nieces and nephews, and their families.
Sallie’s love of art and culture permeated her home and surroundings. Her young nieces loved to look at pictures of her debutant girlhood, watch for the classy outfits she naturally wore like a model, and admire the simple but beautiful hand jewelry accentuating her beautiful nails. She passed from this life with perfectly painted nails a lovely shade of pink.
Grateful appreciation to the kind hands and hearts of Inspiration Hospice and Sunrise Reminiscence.
