Our dearly beloved father, husband and grandfather PAOGO SA’IMOA SAENA AMOSA passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the age of 65 years. He was born in Tuana’i, Western Samoa December 14, 1948. He later moved to the United States and resided in Compton, California. There he met and married his beloved wife Pogaiomealelei Afemata-Tuia in 1971 and the two were sealed for all time and eternity on February 14, 1976 in the Los Angeles Temple. After 28 years of service, he retired from the Union Pacific Amtrak Railroad. He is survived by his wife of 41 years and 6 children: Uanita (Iupeli) Saili, the late Sa’imoa Jr., Sabrina (Darcy) Toafe, Leah Afemata, Amitonu Wesley (Marisa) and Saimoa Sam Jr., and 8 grandchildren ranging from ages 13 to 2 years old. In 1991, he decided to move his young family to Utah, where he raised his family in the faith of the LDS Church. He proudly served in various callings. His strong desire to serve and delegate was demonstrated in a humble manner throughout his life. He taught his posterity to be disciplined in making righteous decisions and honoring the teachings of Jesus Christ. As we continue a new year without our family’s patriarch, we wish him a new beginning in eternal life. We live you Papa.
