Sadie Velarde

Our beloved mother and grandmother passed away on November 10, 2017. Born January 28, 1927 to Joseph Paul Trujillo and Adelina Valdez Trujillo.
Sadie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was born in Durango Colorado and raised in New Mexico. As a young adult, she moved to Utah where she met and married Nicanor Velarde. They moved to New Mexico for a few years and later moved to Utah to raise their family in West Jordan. Sadie loved having fun and had an infectious sense of humor – even in her final hours. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and traveling. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family.
Survived by Son, Mike (Carolyn); daughters, Carla (Jack), Angie, Peggy (Glen), Naomi, Josie, Linda and Bobbie (Dennis); daughter-in-law Connie; son-in-law Tony; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother Sal; sisters Billie and Betty.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband Nicanor Velarde; sons, Nick Jr., Paul and Richard; daughter, Judy and grandson, Brandon.
Funeral Mass Friday, November 17, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 7405 S. Redwood Rd., West Jordan. Vigil service Thursday November 16, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church. Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
