Sabrina Miriama Amosa Toafe

August 19, 1977 — October 22, 2021

Sabrina Miriama Amosa Toafe passed away peacefully at her home in Las Vegas on October 22, 2021. She was born of goodly parents on August 19, 1977, in Compton, California. She was better known to her family and loved ones as, “Yama.” She was truly blessed with a heart of gold, that was easily felt by all who came to know her.
After the family moved from California to Utah, Yama attended Kennedy Jr. High and graduated from Hunter High School in 1996. She found favor from her teachers and easily made friendships that live on to this day. In 1998, working at Greyhound she met her soulmate & sweetheart Darcy Junior Toafe. They were happily married on December 11, 1999, in West Valley, Utah. Yama’s greatest accomplishments were raising her children Cyrina Darlene and Darcy Jr. She also played an important role in raising her niece Jayra Miriama, who carries on her name. Yama was also known for being the best Aunty to all her nieces and nephews.
The last couple of years Yama and her family resided in Las Vegas, Nevada. Despite the distance from the majority of her family, she uniquely utilized social media to stay in touch with everyone, by always being the first to post and/or like comments, share memory videos, take endless pictures, and entertain everyone with her daily Facebook updates.
In addition to her contagious smile and laughter, Yama had a love for sports, that easily made her the best cheerleader watching games from home. Yama truly is in a better place now, as she no longer suffers from daily pain. We are deeply saddened and will miss her greatly; however, we know our memories of her will keep her legacy alive.
Yama is survived by her husband; Darcy Junior, daughter; Cyrina Darlene, son; Darcy Jr., mother; Pogaiomealelei Amosa, sisters; Uanita Saili (Iupeli), Leah Afemata (Lini Moa), Doris Tiatia (Simati), Darlene Uhatafe (Maui), Noel Toafe, brothers; Amitonu Wesley (Marisa), Sa’imoa Sam (Maurinne) and all her beautiful nieces and nephews.
Yama is preceded in death by her father Paogo Sa’imoa Saena Amosa, brother; Sa’imoa Saena Amosa Jr., grandparents; Saena Fiso Sa’imoa & Peva’iai Isaia Amosa and Moesogi & Luanu’u Afemata Tuia.
