Ruth Heggen passed away peacefully on July 21, 2015 surrounded by her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Albert Heggen and is survived by her children; Debbie (Lorne) Holly and Louis Farnung, grandchildren Jamie (Norm) Tipoai, John (Katie) Farnung, Jason (Mistie) Holly and eight great-grandchildren.
Ruth was born in Bad Nauheim, Germany and immigrated to the United States with Albert and lived in Logan, UT before being transferred to Price, UT and Vernal, UT then finally settling in West Valley City. While living in Price, Ruth began her career at JC Penney, completing her working years as a retail manager. She worked at JC Penney for more than 20 years until her retirement at the Valley Fair Mall store.
Albert and Ruth were active members of the Elks Club in each city where they lived and were instrumental in starting the Elks Lodge in Vernal. They were outdoor enthusiasts and participated in many pursuits including hunting, fishing, camping and boating.
Ruth’s family wishes to thank Pioneer Valley hospital, Hunter Hollow Rehabilitation Center and Landmark Hospital for the excellent and kind care given to Ruth in her final days.
