Ruth Beck, age 87 died July 14TH, 2018
 
Ruth was born January 10TH, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Kenneth Wilbur Stoker & Edna Sperger.
My Mother wanted my name to be “Rita”, & my father won out with my name being Ruth. Ruth lived in SLC Central most of her life. She attended Roosevelt Junior High for one year then attended Jordan Junior High where she met & became lifelong friends until the day “Ruthie” passed away, with Audrey Garner, they were 14 years old & inseparable!  She also had 2 other lifelong friends that she loved, Dione Anderson & Geraldine “Geri” Scharman.
 
She graduated from West High School in 1948, then Ruth married the only man in her life, Allen Levi Beck on the 8TH of January 1949. They were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple in July 1956. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, received the Golden Gleaner Award in 1960. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, descended from faithful pioneers to Utah in 1850’s………Boam, McGhie, Stevens & Edwards.
 
She was employed for 2 years with Employers Mutual of Wausau Wisconsin, 1 year at Orange & Collett Tank Lines, 20 years at Transamerica Insurance Co. and Pen Interconnect (cable co) for 10 years before retiring in 2001.
 
Ruth & Allen were blessed with 5 wonderful children: Jared Kenneth Beck (Kim Worthen)/SLC, Roselee Beck Duncan (Mark Y. Duncan)/Fort Worth, TX, Alice Fern Beck Ulibarri (Antoni A. Ulibarri)/Kirtland, NM, Thomas Allen Beck (TAB)/South Salt Lake, UT,
Julie Florence Beck Tschaggeny (Robert (Bobby) Tschaggeny III)/Holladay, UT.
 
They left quite a Legacy of 11 Grandchildren:
