Ruth Diane Dickson

April 3, 1946 — October 28, 2016

Our beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, Ruth Diane Dickson passed away at the age of 70 on October 28, 2016 due to health complications. Diane fought a valiant battle with much dignity and courage. She was born on April 3, 1946 to Bert H. Dickson and Jean Fisher in Salt Lake City, Utah. When Diane was ten years old her family moved to Holladay where she graduated from Olympus High School and later married Robert Lynn Priest. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on October 14, 1977.
Diane attended Salt Lake community College and completed the Certified Nursing Assistant program. Diane loved her job and worked many years caring for others in assisted living facilities. Diane had a special gift relating to and befriending elderly people, and she took great pleasure in working with them. Diane was fiercely devoted to her children and grandchildren, and she loved each of them unconditionally. While Diane struggled through numerous health trials she taught all who knew her about perseverance and increased faith. Diane’s absence will be felt in the lives of many people. She will be dearly missed by all those whose life she touched with her love, but she will never be forgotten.
Diane is survived by her sons: Lamont (Lori) Bird and Ryan Priest; sisters: Karen (Dan) Bryner and Janis (Ken) Lisonbee; grandchildren: Falicia Witt, Heather (Trevor) Durrant, Breanna (John) Gardner, Tyler Priest, Caleb Bird, and Jenessa Priest; great-grandchildren: Kaiden Witt, Aries Durrant, and Liam and Ava Gardner.
She is preceded in death by her loving daughter, Kim Singles, and parents Bert and Jean Dickson.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 2, at 11:00 AM at the Holladay-Cottonwood Memorial Mortuary located at 4670 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah. Interment will follow at the Heber City Cemetery.
