Ruth Ann Clark

May 27, 1954 — April 14, 2017

Ruth Ann Clark, age 62, passed peacefully in her sleep on Friday, April 14, 2017. Born to Glen Arthur Pratt and Lois Ruth Evans on May 27, 1954 in Salt Lake City, she was a lifelong area resident. Dedicated to service and a devoted member of the LDS church, Ruth was committed to the Relief Society efforts, equal rights for women, contributing to impoverished communities, and volunteering as a docent at the Church History Museum. An avid traveler with an insatiable thirst for knowledge, she graduated with a degree in history from The University of Utah in 2000. She inspired people around her and those beyond to live with integrity, love, and joy by doing those things herself.
The ripple effect of Ruth’s life remains with us through her kindness and open-hearted acceptance of others and the ability to find the positive in any situation. Her class, charisma, and charm will never be forgotten. She is survived by her husband Day Clark; her children Aaron Clark, Alana Owen (David Owen), James Clark, and Emily Clark; 5 grandchildren; and 3 siblings: Jim (Debbie) Pratt, Ed (Julie) Pratt, Charmaine (Toby) Folland. Preceded in death by her sister, Julie (William) Shanks.
A viewing and service in appreciation of Ruth’s life will be held at the LDS Stake Center located at 9880 South 3100 East Sandy, UT 84092.
