Rulon Alder

Orem, UT-Rulon Jensen Alder, 92, of Orem, Utah passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on June 24, 2015. Rulon was born September 28, 1922 in Preston, Idaho to Melvin Paull Alder and Emma Chrisstella Jensen. He married Dorothy Marie Ross on June 12, 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 12, 1959. Rulon and Dorothy are the parents of three sons.
Rulon served in World War II as a member of the Navy in the Pacific arena from 1940-1946. He spent his life working as an auto mechanic in the Salt Lake area. He loved to water ski, snow ski and ride motorcycles with his sons. He was very passionate about round dancing and dedicated many hours to practicing his routines. He was an active member of the LDS church.
Rulon is survived by his three sons: Ronald P. (Tracy) Alder, Orem; David R. (Paula) Alder, Farmington; Glen R. (Laurie) Alder, Orem; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; and sisters Emma (John) Furness and Mae (Jack, deceased) Alder-Cole. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy; his parents; brothers, Melvin Dean (Virginia) and Dennis Jensen (Lela) Alder; stillborn daughter, Diane; and grandchildren Ryan and Kristiann Alder.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 12:00 PM in the LDS chapel located at 1875 N. 280 W., Orem, UT. Friends may call on Friday evening from 6-8 PM at Memorial Mortuary, 5850 S. 900 E., Murray or from 10:30-11:30 at the chapel prior to the service.
Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery located at 3115 E. 7800 S. (Bengal Blvd.), Cottonwood Heights, UT.
